Circuit Judge, Circuit 7, Group 14

The right experience…the sensible choice.
I believe that my past performance demonstrates my ability to perform all of the requirements of a judge at the highest level. I grew up in Ormond Beach, Florida. After law school, I returned home to join a general practice law firm. It has been my good fortune and privilege to represent individuals, families and small businesses in the 7th Circuit and throughout Florida for the last twenty-nine years. I have worked tirelessly for my clients and for the betterment of my community.
A Circuit Judge hears a wide range of matters such as:
- Serious Criminal Matters
- Civil Matters where the amount at issue exceeds $30,000 dollars
- Probate and Guardianship Matters
- Family Law, including divorce, paternity, child custody & support and juvenile and dependency matters.
The 7th Judicial Circuit has six courthouses and is made up of four counties, Volusia, Flagler, Putnam and St Johns.
I am ready to apply a comprehensive analysis to the complex problems that are the daily life of a Circuit Court judge. I have learned the fundamentals and am prepared to immediately utilize that experience and knowledge on the busy court docket and impartially apply the existing law to the facts of the matter. In addition to my experience as an attorney, I have also been a Florida Certified County & Circuit Mediator for more than twelve years and a Florida Certified Appellate Mediator for more than five years. I have extensive experience with self-represented litigants, which is crucial as a growing number of litigants are self-represented. I pledge to be accurate in my analysis of each case, strict in my study of each case, and strive to come to the correct conclusion in every case that comes before me in court.
Character. A judge concerned about the litigants before them and mindful of the severity of the matters. Courage. A judge who is ready to meet the challenges of a busy trial court docket and tackle the problems head-on on a daily basis to make the tough decisions. Courtesy. A judge who will treat each participant in the courtroom with respect, civility and thoughtfulness.
